Recently I've been made to read some books for an English competition. Those book are deemed to be a big literature (although they were only from 20th century thanks to some mor... organizator who decided that's what people who never touched Shakespeare in original should be reading). Anyway, my point is, with my teacher we went through entire list as she briefed the rest for me. And from around 60 or more books to choose from TWO, I repeat, TWO of them had happy endings.
So then how is it? Why aren't there any happy stories among these? I for one can't truly love a story that ends like crap, no matter how deep, true and great it is. Of course not everything can end well, and hell! it shouldn't! But what's with that terrible disproportion? I asked someone and they told me "because that's how the life is". So life's always sad and ends in tragedy? Will everyone lose their loved one, have their homes destroyed, faith broken, pride taken away? Is there no hope in life?
We're all doomed. Seriously. Xan was right. And there I laughed at him. Silly me.
I want more happy stories on a good level. If it makes me cry in the middle and sigh with relief in the end, that's what I love. That's what I want. Why such run for tragedies? Not to mention those forced and totally unneeded just to make things "DEEP" or whatever. *coughprisoncoughbreak*.
Ah, I'm just ranting. Still! :C
...on a side note, I would have been registered on dA for almost 4 years now had I not been so eager on changing my nick-name. Quite a shame.

I really appreciate it

Life is like a clean canvas. We are the artist.
For every stroke and every color we use dictates the output.
It doesn't matter how we render it as long as we can proudly say it is our masterpiece.
